August 10, 2008 - When Spambots Attack
Earlier today, EverWars was attacked by spambots. The good news is that they were caught before they did too much damage and I have taken several steps to make it much more difficult for them and other spambots to attack EverWars in the future.
These particular spambots were sending out mass numbers of private messages which were most likely to spyware/phishing sites. All of the private messages they sent have been deleted, but the method I used may cause some of your accounts to still say you have unread private messages waiting even though there are none.
A new player stat called "Stamina" has been added to the game. Stamina helps counteract both melee and magic stuns. It does not reduce the duration of stuns but stamina will give players a chance to temporarily break the stun on a round-by-round basis. Meaning, if a stun is active for 10 rounds, each round the affected player will have a chance to break stun but only for that round. Breaking stun though does not guarantee that the affected player can attack.
Stun items will now use their listed skill (magic or melee) to determine how successful it is in battle. Meaning, you will want to have as high of a skill as possible in Melee or Magic, depending on the stun item, if you are using stuns.
Only one stun item can be active on a player at any time.
A small number of items with incorrect stats have had their stats adjusted.
All negative strength and magic modifiers on the base armor items have been removed though some other items may still contain negative modifiers.

I changed the way the item search works so that now you can specify the skill when searching for Mastery or Debuff items rather than having to type the skill in the search box.
August 1, 2008 - Class Balance Changes *** UPDATED AGAIN ***
To improve the balance and fairness between the classes, some adjustments have been made to the battle engine.
Each class now has their own cap on each of their stats. The class-based stat caps are listed on the Change/Select Class page. Not all of the stat caps have been implemented yet.
Classes that are weapon-based can no longer score critical hits with spells.
Classes that are spell-based can no longer score critical hits with weapons.
The 20 extra inventory slots that were temporarily given to players after the gameworld merger have been reduced to 10 extra inventory slots. In a few days, the 10 extra inventory slots will be removed as well.

The number of Debuff slots has been increased to five (5) slots.

Secondary attacks can no longer score critical hits.
July 31, 2008 - Extra Temporary Inventory Slots Being Removed
When the gameworlds were merged, every player temporarily received 20 additional inventory slots to make it easier to deal with managing items from characters in two gameworlds.
To make this transition easier, we will only be removing 10 of the 20 extra slots initially. This will happen within 24-48 hours. A few days later we will remove the remaining 10 additional slots.
